Shop, stroll, and dine, all against the backdrop of stunning views of Howe Sound and vistas of the coastal mountains – this is Gibsons Landing. Charming stores, art galleries, and restaurants/cafés line the Landing, complete with Winegarden Waterfront Park – the perfect place to sit in the sun or take a panoramic picture of the harbour.
Continue your stroll past the views from Winegarden Waterfront Park and visit the Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives where you can delve into the Landing’s intriguing heritage, or head over to the Gibsons Public Art Gallery.
Best known for the part it played in CBC’s famed The Beachcombers, Gibsons Landing is our very own piece of television history and you can be a part of it when you visit Molly’s Reach Restaurant located in the heart of the Landing.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between! Enjoy delicious west coast cuisine in Gibsons Landing. You can even buy seafood from fishermen on the public dock! If you are hoping to find some local goodies, look no further than the Gibsons Public Market. Opened in March 2017, the Market soon became a community hub where residents and visitors to the Sunshine Coast can enjoy local food, fresh produce, and art + entertainment. Here you can also find cooking classes, guest speakers, a restaurant and the new Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre.
The Marine Education Centre opened in the Summer of 2017, and prides itself on a “collect-and-release” philosophy of sustainable education. Close proximity to the fjord network of Howe Sound makes the Gibsons an ideal location to learn about the ecosystem that is (quite literally) in our backyard. If scuba diving isn’t your cup of tea, the Centre offers you the chance to view 30 underwater world exhibits – as well as interactive displays – without a single piece of equipment. They also offer summer “Aquarist” camps for your family’s budding marine biologists.
Love the water? Learn to sail, enjoy a fishing charter or relax on a cruise through Howe Sound. Kayakers of all levels can paddle in sheltered inlets and bays while observing an array of wildlife. Day trips to Gambier and Keats Island are made easy on the foot passenger service from the Langdale Ferry, or by Gibsons Harbour Ferry or Sunshine Coast Water Taxi from the Government dock in Gibsons Landing. Beachcomb, swim, rest and rejuvenate on one of our quiet & sheltered beaches: Armours, Georgia, Hopkins Landing, Soames, Granthams Landing, or Secret Beach. Prefer to stay on land? Rent a scooter for the day and discover the Sunshine Coast on two wheels!
There is always an event taking place in Gibsons Landing, so check out what’s happening!
